Cross River APC chairman, Achigbe reportedly dead

The All Progressives Congress, APC, Chairman in Cross River State, Dr. Mathew Achigbe, is death.

Achigbe died this morning (Saturday) in a fatal motor accident.

He was said to have travelled to his village in Obubra when the accident occurred along Afikpo Road in Ebonyi State.

New minimum wage: Fayemi reveals condition that will make governors pay N30,000

The Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, on Saturday said that the Federal Government needed to address the current revenue allocation formula, to enable state governments pay the new minimum wage being requested by workers.
Fayemi spoke when he received the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Mr Ayuba Wabba, who paid him a courtesy visit in his office, in Ado-Ekiti.

The Presidential Panel on SARS Reform, which began its public hearing in Lagos on Tuesday, Nov. 13, ended its sitting on Saturday after listening to 36 cases.

The five-day public hearing had some cases successfully resolved, while one was dismissed as complainants refused to show up.
Some other cases were adjourned for panel’s decision and the rest reported to have been settled by necessary authorities.

Abubakar Yahaya Kusada of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday night polled 48,518 votes to emerge winner of the Kusada/Kankia/Ingawa federal constituency bye-election in Katsina state.

INEC’s Chief Returning Officer for the poll, Prof. Rasheed Adedayo Hamzat said “having satisfied the requirements of the law and received the highest votes cast Abubakar Yahaya Kusada of the APC is hereby return as the winner”.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday night declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Raheem Olawuyi Ajuloopin, as winner of the Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero Federal constituency bye-election in Kwara state.

Announcing the results, INEC’s Chief Returning Officer for the poll, Prof. Abimbola Adesoji, said Ajuloopin scored 21,236 votes as against 18,095 votes scored by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Saheed Damilare Alatise.
