NNPC Recruitment 2019: Shortlisting of Candidate Commence (Read Now for the Phases)

NNPC Shortlisting Exercise

According to Ndu Ugahmadu, a spokesman for the company stated that the portal for Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, has closed for application after its opening on 13th March, 2019, some weeks after the presidential election as received by the NIGERIA NEWS.

The shortlisting of the applicants then commence on Wednesday for the its 2019 recruitment. However, the applicants should begin to look forward for their names. The following are the vital information to know before the shortlisted list would be out:

In the task to convey its operations to utmost level, the NNPC placed advertisements to recruit graduate trainees; senior officers and supervisors as well as managers on their portal.

Graduate Trainees:
This post is meant for the young unemployed graduate who posses no formal or work experience in the area of the organization

Experienced Personnel:
People that would be recruited here must have had certain professional experience in the related field and they would be recruited into the Senior Officer/Supervisory or Managerial Cadres.

“The phase one of the ongoing recruitment exercise by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) which kicked off via nationwide advertisements in the national dailies and online media on Wednesday, 13 March, 2019 ended midnight of Tuesday with the closure of the corporation’s application portal,” according to him.

However, the second Phase of the recruitment which is the shortlisting of the applicants has commenced and qualified applicants who see their name being shortlisted would consequently be invited for a Computer Based Test, CBT

Furthermore, the tests would be conducted in about 50 centres across the country, according to him.

“Those who emerge successful in the tests would subsequently be invited for oral interviews for final selection,” Ugahmadu added.

1. Niger guber: Tribunal rules in favour of PDP

Niger State governorship election petition tribunal has struck out the application by counsel to the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate and incumbent governor, Abubakar Bello, seeking to disqualify the lead counsel to the petitioner and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Alhaji Umar Nasko

The lead counsel to Governor Bello and APC, Mr. Samuel Okutepa, SAN, had at the resumed sitting in Minna, sought the tribunal to disqualify Alhaji Abdulmalik Ndayako who is the leading counsel to the PDP candidate on the grounds that he (Ndayako) was the running mate to the petitioner in the election.

Mr. Okutekpa in the application vehemently objected to Abdulmalik Ndayako representing the petitioner, arguing that he was an active participant in the matter that brought about the petition.

2. Kano: Ganduje dares Emir Sanusi, reveals why he won’t reverse creation of new emirates

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State has assured that the newly additional four Emirates have come to stay, insisting that, they were created in good faith without any disdainful treatment to anybody or group of individuals.

He said this on Sunday while insisting that the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi is no longer the only first class monarch in the state.

Reiterating his complete and total support for smooth running of all the newly created Emirates in the state, he further challenged that, “As a son of a Village Head (Dagaci) how can I do something that would jeopardise the corporate existence of our long standing heritage?

3. Nigerian govs warn Buhari govt as direct allocation to LGs begins June

Governors of the 36 States in Nigerian have opposed the Buhari government’s announcement that direct allocation to local government councils will begin June 1.

The Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) had announced a ban on transactions on state and local governments joint accounts.

The NFIU also placed a limit on cash withdrawals from local governments accounts to a maximum of N500,000 per day.

4. FG reacts to killing of Nigeria soldier in Mali

The Federal Government has condemned in the strongest term, the attacks on the UN Peace Keepers by unidentified assailants that led to the death of a Nigerian UN peacekeeper in Timbuktu, northern Mali.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said this in a statement by its Acting Spokesperson, Friday Akpan, on Sunday in Abuja

The UN Secretary General, Mr Antonio Gettress, had said the attacks, which occurred in separate incidents in Tessalit and Timbuktu, left four other UN peacekeepers, including another Nigerian injured.

The lawmaker representing Kaduna Central district at the National Assembly, Shehu Sani, has revealed what happened to Senator Ben Murray Bruce when he introduced the bill for electric cars to the Senate.

DAILY POST had reported that the Senate, rejected a bill seeking to phase out the use of petrol-powered cars in Nigeria and adopt those powered by electricity.

The bill was sponsored by Senator representing Bayelsa East, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce.

In the bill, the lawmaker had argued that it would be cheaper to use electric-powered cars than the current petrol cars being used in Nigeria.

6. Atiku slams N500m suit on Buhari’s aide, Onochie for linking him to terrorists

Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has asked Lauretta Onochie, an aide of President Muhammadu Buhari, to tender apology and pay him N500 million for linking him to terrorists.

This was contained in a letter by Mike Ozekhome, lawyer to the presidential candidate.

On May 7, Onochie had tweeted that the former vice-president was on a United Arab Emirates (UAE) watch list.

“Atiku on UAE watchlist- Security sources,” Buhari’s aide tweeted.

“Security operatives in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are keeping a close tab on a former Nigerian Vice Pres Atiku Abubakar who has been in the Middle East nation for several weeks now What is he doing there?

“Me: Shopping for Terrorists?”

7. Transfer: Solskjaer, Woodward clash over Pogba’s move to Real Madrid

Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, is prepared to let Paul Pogba join Real Madrid this summer in a £120million move, the UK Sun reports.

Pogba was seen as key to Solskjaer’s rebuilding project at Old Trafford, when he took over last December.

The France midfielder was keen on joining Barcelona last summer and, despite a mid-season upturn in performances, he remains keen on leaving the club and is said to have informed Solskjaer of his desire to join Real Madrid.

United’s executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward, believes losing Pogba to the Spanish giants would be a major blow to United’s image and reputation across the world.

8. Police arrest school gardener over alleged murder of SS3 Student

The Lagos State Police Command, on Sunday said it arrested a gardener in a secondary school

over an alleged murder of a Senior Secondary school student.
The Command’s spokesman, DSP Bala Elkana confirmed the arrest in a statement on Sunday.

According to Elkana, on May 16, at about 2.40pm, Iponri Police Station received a complaint from Jubril Martins Memorial Grammar School Iponri.

9. Police confirm killing of Igbinedion varsity lecturer in Edo

The Edo Commissioner of Police, Mr Mohammed DanMallam, on Sunday confirmed the killing of a lecturer with the Igbinedion University, Okada, near Benin, by suspected kidnappers.

DanMallam said the lecturer, Kelvin Izebeokhai, was killed in an attempted escape bid when the victims were being marched into the forest by the kidnappers.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) gathered that the gunmen were said to be operating near Okada junction along the Benin-Lagos highway.

10. Uniuyo student drowns in hotel swimming pool

A 100 level student of the University of Uyo, identified as Kingsley Etim, reportedly drowned in the swimming pool of De Vegas Paradise Hotel in Uyo, on Saturday during a pool party.

Confirming the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Akwa Ibom, SP Odiko Macdon, described the incident as unfortunate.

He said that the Command had commenced preliminary investigation into the matter to unravel more facts concerning the incident, as the police did not foreclose a foul play.
