Following the emergence of All Progressives Candidate aspirants as the winner of last Saturday by-election held in Katsina State, the Peoples Democratic Party has vowed to challenge the outcome of the election before an electoral tribunal.
This decision of the opposition party was revealed by the Katsina State chapter of the PDP shortly after the results were announced.
The APC candidate, Ahmad Babba Kaita, who contested the Kastina North Senatorial District, won the bye-election as he polled 224,607.
The PDP candidate, Kabir Babba Kaita polled 59,724 votes in the by-election.
Speaking on the outcome of the election, the state Chairman of the party, Alhaji Salisu Yusuf Majigiri, as gathered by NIGERIA NEWS, said his party discovered that the election was conducted with the violation of the electoral process which ranges from intimidation of voters by government officials and buying of votes.
It should be recalled that the APC had also over the weekend emerged winner of by-elections that was conducted in two other states, Kogi and Bauchi.
In Bauchi, the INEC Returning Officer of the by-election, Professor Ahmed Sarki Fagam, announced that the APC candidate scored a total vote of 119,489 which made it emerged as the winner of the senatorial district.
While in Kogi, the APC candidate polled 26,860 in the by-election which made it emerged winner of the election.
