Petrol Station Supervisor Arraigned Over Alleged Conspiracy, Theft

A 47-year-old petrol station supervisor, Shehu Bello, was on Tuesday brought before a Wuse Zone 6 Chief Magistrates’ Court, Abuja, over alleged conspiracy and theft.
Bello, a supervisor at A.A Rano Filling Station, was arraigned on four-count charge of conspiracy, trespass, house breaking and an attempt to commit an offence of theft.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Prosecutor, Fidelis Ogbobe, told the court that on Sept. 2, police officers from Asokoro Police Station were called to A.A Rano Filling Station, Asokoro, where one Abubakar Ali was caught attempting to steal from a safe in the office.
The prosecutor told the court that Ali, who had been sentenced to three months in prison by the same court, told the police under interrogation that the defendant (Bello) was his accomplice.
The prosecutor further told the court that Ali confessed that the defendant was the one who informed him that there was N5 million in the safe.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 97, 343,-353 and 95 of the Penal Code.
The Magistrate, Mr Ibrahim Muhammed, granted defendant N300, 000 bail with one surety in like sum.
Muhammed adjourned the case until Oct. 31 for hearing.
