Nigeria news had previously reported, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, in a special press release titled ´´ The Way out: a clarion call for the coalition for Nigeria movement´´, where he stressed that the President had performed far below expectation and should honourably “dismount from the horse”, by not recontesting the 2019 Presidency.
The former President noted that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were incapable of repositioning Nigeria.
“We need a Coalition for Nigeria, CN, Such a Movement at this juncture needs not be a political party but one to which all well-meaning Nigerians can belong. That Movement must be a coalition for democracy, good governance, social and economic well-being and progress. Coalition to salvage and redeem our country. You can count me with such a Movement” Obasanjo noted in the famous letter
