United’s Elimination In The Champions League Is Not A New Thing In Football – Mourinho
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has reacted to his men’s home defeat and elimination in the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League.
The Red Devils played goalless draw in Spain but were hammered by the Spanish Club Sevilla at Old Trafford leading to their elimination in the Champions League round of 16 stage on 2-1 aggregate.
It was a serious embarrassment for all Manchester United fans on Tuesday night, March 13, as their team were beaten at home by La Liga giants Sevilla.
Reacting to the home defeat, the Portuguese-born gaffer said that his men’s elimination in the Champions League is not something that has not happened before in football.
“I don’t want to make a drama out of our defeat against Sevilla, because that’s football and it’s not the end of the world.
“I sat on this chair twice in the Champions League and I knock out Manchester United at home at Old Trafford.
”I sat on this chair with Porto (in 2004), Man United out. I sat on this chair with Real Madrid, Man United out. I don’t think it’s something new for the club.” Mourinho was quoted by Metro to have told reporters after the match.
NIGERIA NEWS, in a previous report, reported that Mourinho speaks on Pogba’s performance against Sevilla.
