As part of a series of social reforms ushered into Saudi Arabia by the powerful crown prince, the government of the country has announced a lift of ban on cinemas in the country.
The Ban which has lasted for 35 years now has been a decision to curb social activities within the country.
35-Year-Old Ban On Cinemas Lifted In Saudi Arabia
This decision is referred to as a landmark decision.
According to a statement by the culture and information ministry, “commercial cinemas will be allowed to operate in the kingdom as of early 2018, for the first time in more than 35 years,” adding that the government will begin licensing cinemas immediately.”
