Two men have invaded a poultry farm which belongs to Senator Olu Alabi carting away with chickens worth N9,600.
Alabi represented Osun State Central senatorial District between 1991 and 1992.
Men In Court For Stealing Chickens
The two men, 65-year-old Adegoke Atanda and one Obe Adegbola, 50, have been arraigned on two counts before Chief Magistrate Fatimoh Sodamade at a Chief Magistrate’s Court in Osogbo, Osun State.
According to the Prosecutor, Mr. Gafari Muslimi, “the accused stole the live chickens from Olu Alabi Farms in the Oke Onitea area of Osogbo, around 10 pm on February 10, 2019.”
“The offence contravened sections 516 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Cap. 34 Vol. II Laws of Osun State 2003.”
However, the two men pleaded not guilty to the charges and opted for an elected summary trial.
In the words of their counsel, Mr. Okobe Najite, “I pray the court to grant them bail in the most liberal and affordable terms.”
“The Chief Magistrate granted the duo bail in the sum of N20,000 each with one surety each in like sum.”
The case will be heard onMarch 1, 2019.
