Suspect Confesses Being Hired by Burna Boy’s Manager to Rob M2Kay

A suspect arrested in connection with the robbery of Nigerian entertainer, M2Kay, Tunmise Omotore, the suspected gang leader of the robbers, has reportedly made a confession of how he disguised himself as room service in order to rob the victim.

Following the arrest of the suspects, Damini Ogulu, AKA Burna Boy was yesterday declared wanted by the Lagos State Police Command when the suspects claimed to have been paid by the Afrobeat/Dancehall singer.

The arrested suspects identified as Balogun Ademola, Obina Igwe, Tunmise Omotore and Joel Kantiok, were paraded by the police after they had allegedly been hired by Burna Boy to carry out the robbery operation on M2Kay.

According to reports by newsmen, Omotore said: “On that day, I was at home when Joel Kantiock (Burna Boy’s road manager) called me on the telephone and said Mr. 2Kay had to be beaten up. He said Mr. 2Kay had issues with Burna Boy. On getting to the hotel, he gave me the room number where Mr. 2Kay was.

”He led me and three others, including one Sunny, to the elevator and told a security man to open the elevator for us.

“We posed as room service officials entered his room and beat him up. We tied him up and collected his phones, a wristwatch and some other things. I was paid N50,000.”

Kantiock, however, is reported to have denied being directed by Burna Boy to arrange for M2Kay to be robbed, adding that he had been unaware of any disagreement between the artists.
