Woman Beheaded By Suspected Herdsmen In Ondo
A woman identified as Patience Salami has been reported to have been beheaded by suspected herdsmen in Arodoye community, in Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The suspected herdsmen were said to have invaded a farmland where the incident occurred.
The owners of the farmland disclosed that upon their return from the festive period, they were faced with the destruction of their farms by the suspected herdsmen.
All the crops planted on the farm were said to have been destroyed by cows.
Information gathered revealed that Salami was attacked on her farm during the festive period and her head was cut off with some other parts of her body not found at the scene of the incident.
The remains of Salami has been deposited at a mortuary in Akure specialist hospital.
According to Justice Michael Owoyemi who spoke on behalf the farmers to journalists in Akure, the destruction of farmlands by herdsmen has become a rampant and disturbing issue lately.
He disclosed that crops worth millions of Naira have been destroyed by cows, as he also revealed that in the year 2016, some herdsmen harvested farm produce which was not planted by them and also went further to set ablaze some cocoa trees in the farm.
