Emerging report claimed that armed men suspected to be herdsmen have launched attacks on Gon, Bolki and Nzomosu communities in Numan local government area of Adamawa state, burning down many houses.
NIGERIA NEWS gathered that the cattle breeders raided the three villages on Thursday, September 13.
The incident was made public by a lawmaker representing Numan constituency in the National Assembly, Honourable Sodom Tayedi, on Friday, September 14.
Tayedi said the gunmen during the attack shot sporadically into the air and set houses ablaze, forcing residents to scamper to safety.
She maintained that the gunmen mobilised from Abbare, a border community between Taraba and Adamawa state.
the lawmaker further disclosed that the Nigerian army have been informed of the attack and they assured that troops have been deployed to the area.
She, however, accused security agencies of stationing in Abbare of negligence noting that she wonders why they could not prevent the attack which has been consistent from that axis.
Police authorities could not confirm the attack as calls put through to the police spokesman, Habibu Musa, were not answered.
Meanwhile, NIGERIA NEWS had reported that suspected herdsmen struck again, hacked no fewer than 7 to death in Plateau.
