She answered these questions while speaking with On Air Personality (OAP) Toolz on the Midday show on the Beat 99 FM. In reply to whether she and Tee Billz are back together, she replied that, ”we are doing what they are doing privately and it should remain private.”

When asked what she thought about gender discrimination in the society, Tiwa replied saying, ”It’s real. I’m not going to say I’m completely comfortable with it but it is what it is. You have to deal with it. If it means you have to work 10 times harder than your male counterparts, don’t complain about it, do what you have to do. We all celebrate people like Oprah and Mo Abudu and we don’t actually realise what they have to do to get to that point. They probably had to do 20 times than their male counterparts. Once you get there, you don’t complain about how you get there. So, whatever it is you have to do as a female, you just have to get it done.”

”I know I’ll (ruffle) a few feathers but I also don’t think men and women are equal, I don’t think that’s how God created us that way… especially in the household anyway. So I think as females when we realise that yeah we can be strong in our career, but when we are home we have to realise that the man is the head of the house.”

The All Over singer spoke about other things including the day she will never forget. Tiwa says the day she’ll never forget was the day she had her son after a 22-hour labour, also adding that she has a lot of scars on her body to remind her of the day.

According to her, she’s embracing her stretch marks, adding that if she were not in the entertainment industry, she wouldn’t have tried to lose weight. She also said she has a pouch and she isn’t going to do surgery to get rid of it.

She added that she has plans for her stretch marks, which is to paint them in different colours.

She lamented that women are being seen as wrong when issues arise in relationships whether they are right or wrong.

Toolz made some notes about visit;

  • She came to the interview with no entourage, she even did her own make-up herself, before arriving; cutting costs.
  • She does not have any extra cast doing her make-up and all. When the camera goes off, it’s just her and her son. No extras around…
  • She is working on a song with Coldplay and he was very interested in African dances
  • The structure of the industry abroad is different, she can record a song and it’s out the next day, on the internet, in Africa. But in the international market, it could take up to a year or two for the song to get out
  • She doesn’t want her son to feel pressured to do music because that’s what she’s doing and he’s a little shy. If he’s dancing and he catches you watching him, he’d stop.
  • She’d love for her son to be a ball player (basketball or soccer), so he can buy her a retirement home…
  • Her most embarrassing day is the first day she had to perform at an event in Eko Hotel and her back zip broke and exposed her back/behind.
  • If she were a guy, she would get away with a lot more. If she were a male artist, she wouldn’t have as much flack

Yemi my lover

Revered Nigerian actor, Yemi Ayebo has said that he had produced other movies that were better than Yemi my Lover, the title that brought him to the limelight.

Speaking with Sunday Scoop he admitted that it was the movie that t made him popular and that’s how he got his stage name.

“Even if I make movies that are more interesting, they may not be as popular as the one from which I derived my stage name. As a matter of fact, I have made movies that are better than Yemi my Lover. For you to know how powerful that name is, many of the contemporary music artists such as Olamide and DJ Cuppy have sang about it.”

Speaking on his current projects, the actor said there is a project he is working on but it’s on hold because of financial challenges.

When asked why he isn’t often seen in movies these days, the entertainer said many of his colleagues think I’m not a commercial artiste.

“But I’m telling them not to see me as just a movie producer. I am also a commercial actor. Ever since I started speaking out about this, there have been changes but not much. They now call me for jobs but things can be better.”

He mentioned artiste like late Ade Afolayan (Ade love) as an artist who used to feature only in his own production, and people have been looking at him like that.

“In those days, hardly would you see an actor such as Ade Afolayan (Ade Love) in every movie. He usually only featured in his own productions. Because of that, people perceived him as not been a commercial artiste.

“Someone like Kunle Afolayan is also seen in that light. He is a producer and director, and many people don’t see him as a commercial actor. As for me, I am a producer, director, singer, dancer and actor. I am a born artiste and there is no role I cannot play.”

Kemi Olunloyo calls out to Naira Marley over attack on Ruggedman In London (VIDEO)

She wrote:

Marlians, be guided. Don’t be part of this. Violence is not the answer to anything. My whole family almost got killed yesterday because of cash, gadgets and jewelry. My son @richkjtmusic lost all his devices and studio equipment. We were beaten, my 79yo mom tortured at gunpoint.

My #ptsd heightened, my family too now. Nobody needs to be attacked for advocacy or freedom of expression. I support @nairamarleybut not supporting assaulting @ruggedybaba. Sorry, Ruggedman. Young ppl don’t take your foolishness to foreign countries. God bless the Naira, Nigeria, and everyone.
