US Rapper Craig Mack Is Dead
American rapper, Craig Mack who is worldly known for his hit song Flava In Ya Ear is dead.
The popular rapper died from congestive heart failure at the age of 46.
Iconic disc jockeys Funkmaster Flex and DJ Scratch took to social media to announce the demise of the US rapper who could not resist the effect of congestive heart failure early on Tuesday, March 13, 2019.
“I just got a disturbing phone call,” DJ Scratch said on Instagram. “I cannot believe this dude is gone. He just reached out a couple of weeks ago for me to speak on his documentary about his life. Because Craig was my rodie on tour. He would set up & break down my turntables every night on tour. Rest In Peace Lil Bro.”
Craig Mack became famous as part of mogul Puff Daddy’s Bad Boy Entertainment label in the 1990s. His debut album, Project: Funk da World peaked at 21 on the US Billboard charts.
According to report, Craig’s first single was released in 1998 but he was brought to limelight in 1994 with a remix of Flava in Ya Ear, featuring guests The Notorious B.I.G., LL Cool J and Busta Rhymes. The song received a Grammy Award nomination and recently featured in the 2015 film Straight Outta Compton.
Craig’s burgeoning fame is widely believed to have been overshadowed by the huge success of Notorious BIG’s debut album, Ready To Die, which came out in the same month as Mack’s first album.
Many are of the opinion that Mack never got the fame that he was due because he was on the same label that helped give Mary J. Blige, 112 and the Notorious B.I.G. their larger than life status. Others say that he left the scene purposefully, and content.
Meanwhile, in 2012, the music ace announced he had joined the Overcomer Ministry, a conservative Pentecostal Christian group that many have accused of being a cult.
