Jonathan and Buhari
The Former President Of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has been ordered to desist from criticising the present led government of Muhammadu Buhari.
This warning was made by, Osita Okechukwu, The Director General of the Voice of Nigeria and also a stakeholder in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The DG threatens he would have no choice but to expose Jonathan if he does not desist from malicious criticism of the present administration. In his words “if Jonathan wants to open the vault, then we can go back and open the pandora box for him. So, let us leave it at that.”
Okechukwu disclosed that the Jonathan led administration failed Nigerians in all ramifications as they left infrastructure worth billions of dollars to decompose and also allowed the embezzlement of public funds.
He instructed Jonathan to ‘quietly retire to any part of the country of his choice and stop challenging the APC and the Buhari government to a public debate.’
Okechukwu revealed that the Jonathan administration had earlier promised to build three Greenfield refineries on May 13, 2010, which worth $23 billion. The contract which according to him was given to the Chinese under Public Private Partnership. The refineries which were to be located in strategic places in the country, Lagos, Kogi and Bayelsa were unfortunately not built. “We challenge him to show us the three Greenfield refineries or tell us where the money he voted for the project is. I am talking about a time when our Excess Crude Account was in the excess of short $17 billion. The Chinese came back and told him they were going to contribute about 80 percent of the three Greenfield refineries. We have not seen any of them” he stressed.
He also revealed that money allocated for the tidying up the Ogoni environment affected by oil spillage is also nowhere to be found. “Jonathan has no right to call for debate as he’s unequivocally guilty of corruption,” he said.
The DG stated that the issue of Jonathan is insignificant and he would not like to return to it as long as Jonathan adhere to his warning and stop his criticism of the APC led government.
