What Emir Of Kano Said On Ganduje Of APC Governorship Victory

The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, on Saturday organised a special prayer session at the Kano Central Mosque for the Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje administration as he is about to enter into his second term in office.

NIGERIA NEWS can reports that the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, has finally reacted to the victory of the incumbent governor at the poll after the supplementary election that was held a few days ago

Though fracas and voters intimidation was recorded at during the supplementary and were rumours of protesters and infighting immediately the announcement which later turned to be false alarmed though there were reported civil disobedience at the INEC collation centre that was professionally curtained by the security men

The Emir and former CBN governor under the former president has said no matter who is the political leader in the state what Kano want is peace and therefore no ambition anyone should worth taken away the peace of the people in the state

Emir of Kano, Sanusi II organised a prayer session at the Kano Central mosque for supplication of peace in the state on Saturday and the prayer session was well attended by Scholars, District heads, Chief Imam of Kano and member of the state Executive Council and Ganduje special advisers

 

In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Malam Abba Anwar on Saturday, the prayer is to seek for Allah’s protection and guidance for the governor’s second term in office and the country as a whole.

In a press statement that was obtained by this reporter suggest that the prayer session was organised by the state executive to pray for Governor Ganduje second term and guidance to rule the office and peace of the country as a whole.

Sanusi who spoke at the prayer session said that forgiveness is paramount in the community where one found himself to be a leader taking governance and social relationship as an example, he insisted that misunderstand is sometimes traced to troublemakers

“It is not bad for anyone to hold on to his or her opinion about happenings in the society. But what is necessary is the fact that after the election, all people should come together and see to the successful tenure of government in power.

“Because of that, it is necessary that Ganduje administration deserves all necessary support and cooperation for the development of our dear state.

“We must all come together and make Kano greater. We must work hard and pray incessantly for the rightful development of our state and the nation in general,” the monarch added.

Sanusi, who prayed for Allah’s protection from the handiwork of sycophants, also said that political , traditional, religious and leaders of the business community should not allow any misunderstanding come in between them.

“Whoever wants to create confusion and misunderstanding between these categories of leadership, is somebody who goes astray.

“Such a person doesn’t want the development of our state at all,” he cautioned.

While calling on the governor to always investigate any story that goes to him, he explains that, sometime people would just fabricate stories and start spreading rumour, with the intention of causing confusion.

“Sometimes some people will do something without your consent. But some individuals will just go ahead and start spreading rumor that it was you who planned for that. While that thing happens without even your knowledge.

“So we will keep on praying for a peaceful Kano and for a successful tenure and you to be a leader with large heart, who embraces all.”

We had earlier reported that Ganduje has called his later victory at the governorship election as an of democracy and he did not sponsor any violence to win the election

Breaking: PDP Governor Endorses Gbajabiamila For 9th Assembly Speaker

The Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has endorsed Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila representing the Surulere Federal Constituency, as the speaker of the house of representative, NIGERIA NEWS reports.

Mr. Femi said he is happy for the support of the Governor as he has been soliciting for his support and the support of other elected house of representative.

The Governor pleads to the lawmaker to work in a team with Mr. Femi by not considering any political association. The All Progressives Congress, APC also preferred the candidate and ready to support him.

The Governor also urged the house of representative in the state to be in support of Mr. Femi and ensure he is successful.

Full Names Of All Politicians Whose Certificate Of Returns Were Withdrawn By INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC chairman for Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye revealed that about 25 certificates of return were taken back on 17th of May, 2019, from the triumphant in the 2019 general election that took place in the months of February and March, NIGERIA NEWS report.

Mr. Festus said that about 22 certificates of return were withdrawn due to the lawsuit case within their respective party while the other 2 withdrawn certificate was a due inter-party lawsuit. He then further stated that “20 of the 25 certificates-of-return were withdrawn from All Progressive Congress (APC) members to other APC members; while two from People Democratic Party (PDP) members were withdrawn and issued to other PDP members.

“The other three were withdrawn from APC and PDP and given to other political parties.”

Mr. Festus then urge the media to use the platform to resolve any dispute in politics instead of taking it to court. He then stated below as regards this:

“The media and its practitioners to dig deep into the Electoral Act to ensure that the import of the recently amended sections is made known to the public.

“The media should also center on the aspect of using Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) to resolve electoral issues especially at the party levels instead of going to the court.”
