1.Nigeria elections: Why PACT failed to unseat APC, PDP – Buhari explains disappointment in Moghalu

The presidential candidate of Sustainable National Party of Nigeria, SNPN, in the 2019 general elections, Ahmed Buhari, has revealed why he refused to collaborate with other political in the build-up to the polls.

Buhari had walked out of Presidential Aspirants Coming Together, PACT, a force meant to sack the two leading political parties in the country.

Buhari, who was quoted by Vanguard, added that he was disappointed when people like Kingsley Moghalu,”told me that he was clearly the best candidate and that we should all step down for him.”

2.Gunmen abduct Chief Security Adviser in Cross River

The Chief Security Adviser to Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State, Mr Ani Esin has been kidnapped.

He was abducted in his house on Tuesday by 3am and beaten to a pulp by suspected Kidnappers who carried assorted guns.

An eyewitness who gave his name as Etim alleged that the action may not be unconnected with recent political events in the State.

“Though the action is regrettable, it may not be unconnected with recent developments in the State,” he stated.

3.Ethiopia Airlines: What Oby Ezekwesili said about Pius Adesanmi’s death

Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, Tuesday, urged everyone grieving the death of Pius Adesanmi, popular Nigerian professor and columnist, to be strong.

DAILY POST had reported that Adesanmi, alongside 149 passengers and eight crew members were involved in the Ethiopian Airlines plane en route Nairobi from Addis Ababa, which crashed on Sunday.

The airline said the 149 passengers and eight crew members on board the B-737-800MAX with registration number ET- AVJ, all died in the crash.

“None of the people on board the Boeing 737 that crashed en route from Addis Ababa to Nairobi survived,” the airline said.

4.Senate adjourns sitting over death of Hon. Temitope Olatoye

Senate on Tuesday adjourned plenary till Wednesday, 13 March 2019 over the death of Hon. Temitope Olatoye Sugar representing Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

The adjournment followed a point of Order by the Senate leader, Senator Ahmed Lawan, to suspend plenary as a result of the death of the lawmaker in the lower chamber.

“Mr. President and my respected colleagues, I rise under Order 43 that in keeping with our tradition that when a sad event happened, we suspend parliamentary activities as a mark of respect.”

“You5will recall that Honourable Temitope Olatoye Sugar died during the election and I hereby move a motion for adjournment till Wednesday.”

5.Rivers guber: How Wike ‘colluded with INEC officials to write’ results – APC

The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State, on Tuesday accused the state governor, Nyesom Wike, of colluding with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to rewrite polling unit results of last Saturday’s governorship election in the state Government House.

APC alleged that the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, in the state, Obo Effanga, alongside some members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, were rewriting unit results of the Saturday’s election in the state Government House.

In a statement by its state Publicity Secretary, Chris Finebone, APC called for the redeployment of Effanga from the state to avoid crisis.
